The Timeline visual is currently broken. Visual works if I clear the date filter and select entire range, as soon as I select a specific range my visuals all error.
App version is 2.4.0 with an update in the store to go to v2.5.13.0. This new version fails to install, even after removing v2.4.0 (or the version number in 2.5.13.0 is incorrect). A lot of reviews in the store are reporting the same issue.
Visual About after the update:
Edit: The plot thickens! All date slicers appear to break my visuals, so it's not limited to the Timeline visual. I have since downgraded (?), or removed the MS Store version of PowerBI and done a manual install of PBIDesktopSetup-2025-02_x64.exe v2.140.157.0 and my visuals are all working again. So the problem appears to be with a recent build of PowerBI and quite possibly limited to the Microsoft Store version.

Hi there, if I have an activity that takes place from 1st Jan 2025 until 31st March 2025, and I change my dates slicer to show me stuff on 3rd Jan, it will ignore the above project as the date on slicer is after the start date. How to make it work so it's always showing all activities in that specific day?

Hi Ranin,
How does the custom visual created by the Microsoft community work?
Are they updated regularly? Can I request specific features? If so, what is the typical timeline?
Or, since it's community-based, does it depend on contributions from anyone at random times?
My understanding is the second one; however, my Power BI admin insists that the first one is the case.
I truly appreciate your clarification.
Best,
YN

This visual is using the "Background elements" portion of the Theme ONLY for the "grey" portions that you see on this image
First off, it should probably be using the "Secondary background elements" field instead, and second of all it shouldnt' be ONLY theming this small section of the visual... this is completely broken and is even broken with the out of the box themes.

So I created a dashboard with sunburst visual V2 2.3. My dashboard has 4 charts alltogether and i edited the interactions between each other so that when i select a segment in one chart the selection in the other charts dont disappear. But now after microsoft updated to V6 in these charts that option is lost. Now Selections inside one Sunburst will still be lost when clicking another. Any fix for this?

Hello All,
I have been given the task to create a line chart. The line chart will contain Actual and Predicted Values. The Forecasted/Predicted Values need to be represented by a dotted line while the actual values will have a solid line..I need to achieve this feature in a line graph..What do you recommend how i do it? There is something called Charticulator that I am not very much aware of? will that work for this or I can do it simply with another chart from the marketplace..Please help me here

Hi Ajit!
Thank you for offering your expertise. I am Elena Arxer from Barcelona.
In my case, I want to display a Waterfall graph with customizable bar colors (not depending if they are positive or negative but depending of the specific column).
Right now I am using the "Simple Waterfall" graph by Datanomy Technologies Limited but I cannot see this option. Do you know how can I approach this issue?
FYI - This is part of my graph and I would like column C to be always green:
Thank you again for your help.
Best regards,
Elena

I have run into an issue with the Timeline Slicer visual not getting updated. Both the desktop and online versions of BI are installing version 2.4.0 from Appsource. In Desktop I can just force it to ignore appsource and install a newer version from a local file but this doesn't help with my published reports. Is there something I can do to get version 2.5.11 in PowerBI Service?

Hello Support,
The problem is apparently general: I have this problem with the "TimeLine Slicer" visual on all pages of all my reports! The PBI DESKTOP version (V. 2.4.0) is not the same as the PBI SERVICE version (V.2.5.11.0)... This is a lot of work to edit all pages of all reports and publish everything... Please publish a fix soon...

Hi Support,
The Timeline Slicer 2.5.11.0 in Power BI caused issues today.
The Timeline Slicer visual automatically updated to 2.5.11.0 in Power BI Service.
- This caused the settings to reset to default.
- We have very many reports and to update them all will be a tremendous effort.
- It also caused the vertical scroll bar to appear and unable to remove it unless we resized the visual to 165 height.
- We are unable to update the Timeline Slicer visual from 2.4 to 2.5 in desktop.
Please Advise workaround or ETA on fix.

Same issue here. It looks like the version for download claims to be 2.5 but it's really 2.4.
Tried a new blank report with no custom visuals, and it downloaded the 2.4 version as well.
Desktop shows the visual as I want it to appear, but online the visual is showing all options as per default settings.
We have this in 100s of views, so a fix is needed asap.

Hi ,
I am facing a Slicer Behavior issue with the timeline custom visual of power BI version2.5.11 The slicer might show a smaller blue part than the whole rectangle for a specific year, indicating that the slicer is not recognizing the full date range.
how to fix this? what can be a probabale solution?

I also have the same issue. What I have noticed about now getting a vertical scroll bar, is that suddenly the Timeline Slicer visual in the Power BI Service is no longer holding on to the 'Off' selection of the 'Display all' toggle under the Labels section of the Formatting pane. When opening the Desktop app file, the 'Display all' toggle under the Labels section is turned off (as desired). However, after publishing, the visual in the Service is behaving as though the 'Display all' toggle under Labels is turned On, and therefore there is no longer enough vertical space on the visual and it presents an undesirable vertical scrollbar. Can this be fixed? Thanks!

Same issue here !!!
We have many reports that use the TimeLine Slicer and this can be very disabling.
Could we already know if the problem has been seen, or even know an estimated resolution date please ?
