Help with counting on visual map

I created a map visual using the map in Power BI. I have the latitiude and longitude coordinates, but I want to count the number of coordinate pairs in each state, for example, how many points are in New York? May someone be able to provide me some guidance or help to accomplish this task? Thank you!
