Chnage data source even if column sequence is not same

Problem : I want to chnage data source but my column sequence is not same.

Solution : To verify if we can do  this first we will add new data source.

For this we will be using exxcel source as shown below.

Excel capture 1.PNGGo to  Get data in Power BI desktop and load this data using excel source.

Exceel capture 2.PNG

Now we will go to  Same excel file again and change sequence of the columns also, remove last 3 rows.

After changing the column sequence we will save it as new file.

Excel capture 3.PNG

Now, we will go to Data transformation >> data source setting >> chnage data source and select new excel file path.

Click on Ok and then click close and cclick on apply chnages.

excel capture 4.PNG

Now,  you can see see in the fields pain columns are  same but data has been chnaged according to new Excel file.

Final Output:

excel capture 5.PNG

NOTE : We can chnage column sequence but all column header names needs to be same in order to chnage data source.

Hope this will be helpful!
