Getting data from PBI to Excel is surprising very difficult. The one option provided in PBI is the ... menu on the top right, which is, in my opinion, a very poor place to have this option. This is a poor place because in this menu includes many items I'd rather not give the users of the reporting access to. In particular, one option I don't want the users access to is the sorting of charts. The charts in my reports are sorted in a very particular way. As a result, I only open this option up on tables.
However, in many cases, I would not need a table if the 'Show As Table' option allowed for one to export the data to Excel.
So, in my opinion, the 'Export Data' option should be removed from the ... menu and moved to the 'Show As Table' function of PBI.
