Issues setting snapshot schedule?

We recently updated to 1.27.9770.30560 and noticed that we cant set up snapshot schedules. Creating a schedule for a data driven subscription works fine.

I tried to create a ticket but all the links provided dont work and couldnt find anything in the know issues.

Anyone else experiencing this?

    Hi beane031,

    I can't confirm whether it is a regression in that build, but two things are worth ruling out first, plus a workaround that bypasses the portal page:

    1. Stored credentials. Snapshots run unattended, so every data source used by the report must use stored credentials (not "prompt" or Windows integrated). If a data source changed during the upgrade, the snapshot option can fail or be greyed out while data-driven subscriptions on other reports still work. Check the report > Manage > Data sources.

    2. Browser console. Open DevTools (F12) on the History/Snapshot settings page and click Apply. If the portal is broken you will usually see a failed call to the REST API with an error message that tells you more than the page does.

    3. Workaround: set the schedule through the SOAP endpoint with rs.exe, which does not depend on the portal UI. Save as setSnapshot.rss:

    Public Sub Main()
        Dim schedRef As New ScheduleReference()
        schedRef.ScheduleID = "<shared-schedule-guid>"   ' create a shared schedule first

        rs.SetItemHistoryOptions(ReportPath, True, True, schedRef)
    End Sub
    rs.exe -i setSnapshot.rss -s https://<server>/ReportServer -e Mgmt2010 -v ReportPath="/Finance/Monthly Close"

    Arguments are: enable manual snapshots, keep execution snapshots, schedule. If this works but the portal still fails, that points clearly to the portal and is worth reporting with your build number (the Fabric Issues site works when the ticket links do not).

    So my overall approach would be:

    Data sources on stored credentials
    -> F12 console/network on the snapshot page for the real error
    -> Set the schedule via rs.exe SetItemHistoryOptions as workaround
    -> Report the portal bug with build 1.27.9770.30560
