Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the "Input slicer" visual in Power BI. I created an input slicer in Power BI Desktop and set the filtering rule to "Does not contain any". It worked perfectly in Desktop during my local tests, filtering data as expected. However, after publishing this report to our on-premises Power BI Report Server, the input slicer's behavior seems to have changed: The operator dropdown button is missing: The dropdown button that allows me to switch between operators (e.g., "contains", "does not contain") in Desktop is no longer visible on the server. Filtering logic appears different: When I enter a value, it seems to apply an exact match logic instead. Only when I type the complete and exact value can it filter the data. The "does not contain any" rule I originally set no longer seems to work. Has anyone else encountered this issue? What could be the possible causes? Is this due to limited support for the input slicer visual in certain Report Server versions, or could it be that I missed some important step before publishing? Just to add more details to this issue: I recently upgraded our Power BI Report Server from the September 2025 version to the May 2026 version (version 15.0.1121.120) I'd really appreciate any insights or suggestions! Thanks in advance.39Views0likes1CommentUnable to upload PBIX files
Hi there, We are getting the following error when trying to upload reports to our report server. It was at the January 2026 version and we tried to update it to May 2026 version to see if that resolved the issue, but we get the same message with the May version as well. We had previously been able to create reports in the January 2026 desktop version and upload them to the server okay and have also tried to create reports in May 2026 desktop version and upload but nothing seems to work. Our live server (January 2026 still) still works okay. We can upload PDFs or text files to the server okay. It just seems to throw the error when you try to upload a PBIX file. If i check the console when I try to upload any reports we get the following error: and have checked the server logs and get the follwoing polyfills-KEOJFKRO.js:1 POST https://XXXXXXXXX/Reports/api/v2.0/catalogitems 422 (Unprocessable Entity) (server address removed) We have tried googling those to see if there is a fix or known issue for that but can't really find any information on those 2 errors. We have checked the certificates on the server and they seem to be okay and have the correct binding. We are at a bit of a loss on how to resolve this - does anyone have any ideas? We are currently planning to upgrade our on-premises Power BI Report Server environment running on a Virtual Machine (VM). However, we are encountering intermittent failures during the upgrade process, which is blocking our deployment. Since this is a production environment hosting more than 1000 reports, we cannot proceed with the upgrade until we ensure absolute stability and identify the root cause of these issues. Problem Details & Symptoms: Intermittent Upgrade Failures: The upgrade process behaves inconsistently; it succeeds in some trial environments but fails randomly in others. Initial SSL Certificate Warnings: In the early stages of the upgrade attempt, the installer threw errors regarding the SSL certificate validation. Analysis Services Connectivity Issues: Upon examining the Power BI Report Server log files (PBIRS\LogFiles), we detected frequent connection timeout and authentication errors pointing to the underlying Analysis Services (SSAS) instance during/after the upgrade sequence. Due to the scale of our deployment (1000+ reports) and the corporate criticality of this server, we urgently request your technical assistance to review our environment and log files. Environment Details: Hosting Environment: Windows Server Virtual Machine (VM) Current PBIRS Version: Jan 26 Target PBIRS Version: May 26 Database Backend: SQL Server / SSAS Also , I could not find Microsoft’s official support ticket website. Could you please help any of these above? Thanks.Solved784Views0likes3CommentsAzure Maps visual and on-prem report server
We have an on-prem Report Server. I am currently using the default map visual to create heat maps. I am getting a pop-up message to upgrade to Azure maps visual and if I don't upgrade they will automatically convert at some point. My question is - the Azure maps visual does not work with on-prem report server so what will happen to my existing maps when they convert to Azure maps visual?Solved3.2KViews2likes5CommentsGantt 3.0.12.0 Visual blurry on Report Server
Hi, I am using Gantt 3.0.12.0 and it is working fine on Desktop. However when viewing on Report Server the visual is quite blurry. This blur disappears when in Focus Mode, however I would like it to be visually clear outside of this. Hello everyone, I am encountering a persistent issue when refreshing a report on Power BI Report Server, while the same file refreshes perfectly fine on my Power BI Desktop. Environment Details: Report Server Version: 1.23.9316.13987 (May 2025) Power BI Desktop Version (Optimized for Report Server): 2.143.954.0 64-bit (May 2025) Error Message: When I trigger the refresh on the server, I receive the following error stack: SessionID: XXXX [0] -XX: An unexpected exception occurred. [2] -XXX: The command has been canceled.. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. [3] -XXXX: The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed. [10] -XXXX: The command has been canceled.. The exception was raised by the IDataReader interface. What I've checked: Manual refresh on Desktop works fine. Data source credentials on the server are correct. Is this a known bug in the May 2025 release, or could it be a timeout/driver issue? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!Solved2.1KViews2likes9CommentsPBI Report Server Schedule refresh
I am using Power BI Report Server with scheduled dataset refresh enabled for my reports. I would like to display the last successful data refresh date and time directly in a Power BI dashboard hosted on Report Server. I understand that the ReportServer database contains tables and views such as Catalog, Subscriptions, Schedule, and ExecutionLog3, but it is not clear which one reliably records the actual dataset refresh execution time. From Microsoft documentation, it appears that report executions are logged in ExecutionLog3, but the documentation does not clearly state how to identify dataset refresh events specifically. Could someone clarify: Which table or view in the ReportServer database reliably stores the dataset refresh execution time? How can we filter only refresh events (and not normal report views)? What is the recommended or standard approach to capture and display the last refresh timestamp in a Power BI Report Server dashboard?Solved2.4KViews0likes7CommentsParametros en matriz
