export data
14 TopicsIssue when exporting data from a matrix
Hello all, I have the issue that when I create a measure to be shown at a certain level of the matrix, other than the very first level, I am able to export that data column and view it along with the others. The problem comes when I try to create a similar measure but that will be shown only at the very first level of the matrix, and not the rest, export data shows for that column as blank. So I've tried different approaches of creating the measure, but none of them seem to work if the measure appears at the very first level of the matrix, but it does work when exporting for other sublevels. Any facing this issue before, PFA the image to see better with sample data. Thank you in advance for your help.788Views0likes3CommentsExport paginated Report to tsv
How can I export a paginated report to tsv with a tab delimiter? In SSRS I could add an extension to the config file but that doesn't seem to work anymore. The option still shows but the file has a comma instead of a tab for it's delimiter.Solved888Views0likes2CommentsExport Data: Data with current layoutIs

Hello - I am building the paginated report in the screenshot below. I want to be able to export it to Excel where the text boxes and all three tables export to one tab in Excel. I also need to loop through several employees and create one tab per employee in the same Excel file. Looking for help on how to loop through a list of employees and create a tab for each. Thank you!659Views0likes1CommentCannot Export Data to Excel on a table visual published on a report on Power BI online server
I am trying to find the menu that pops up when you hover over a visual that lets you click on the 3 ellipses to then Export data. It is popping up on every visual except for my table visuals on a report I have published on the Power BI online server in one of my team's workspaces. It is strange because I have a different report published in this workspace where it allows me to export the data of a table visual, but this report doesn't even show me those 3 ellipses. I've checked my report settings and even tested with a user who has build permission and we still cannot see the 3 ellipses to export the data from a table visual.2.1KViews0likes5CommentsExport Data Settings Location
Hi, does anyone know where Export Data settings are stored? It seems to me like it might be in the report file itself rather than the database but then how do I retrieve those if I want to report on those settings? Any help would be appriciated. The main objective is being able to run one audit report that shows which reports are set as exportable and which ones are not. This is for the Report Server Application and not for the Cloud. Thank youSolved1.2KViews0likes1CommentExport Data - Summarized data - Has anyone made it work as expected?
Hey there, I can't make it work. When I'm sitting at the top level of the hieararchy on a matrix visual and click on extract> summarized data, the extract still shows all levels of the hierarchy (columns) with their values - making it technically an underlaying data extract. I'm aware of the repetition of the values shown in the PBI videos for when an export is done at the top level of the hierarchy, but this is a different scenario. Any ideas or something I'm missing in the config of the service?442Views0likes0CommentsAzure server running Power BI: Export / import data tables to files on server to reduce API traffic?
Hello folks, Can you please tell me if the following is possible in Power BI? My situation: We're using PBI to develop reports for our customers based on a number of data streams coming form physical sensors. This data is stored in a database which we access througfh an API. The amount of data grows (at least) linearly with time, and our customers need to be able to view all data through the reports. This is a huge problem, as the workload on the database server and the refresh lag increases steadily over time and will eventually exceed the physical capabilities of the server or the patience of our customers. Surely, others must already have experienced or are anticipating a similar challenge? An attempt at a solution: After each refresh, a query saves the content of the data tables locally in a .csv or excel file on the report server. The content of this file is then loaded into the tables on refresh, and a query is sent to the API for just the newest data not already in the files. So, effectively, this would work as an incremental refresh, heavily reducing the workload on the database server. Could this work? Is there already an implemented solution for this challenge that I might have overlooked? Cheers, Mike404Views0likes0CommentsWhat is the Export data row count limit for Power BI Report Server?
We seem to be limited to exporting 30,000 rows of data with Power BI Report Server, but we can export 150,000 rows in Power BI Service. Is there an official row limitation for Report Server and is anyone able to export more than 30k rows? This is a big limitation for us and I truly hope there is a solution.Solved23KViews0likes18Comments
