unable to change date format mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy

power bi desktop date slicer is showing in dd/mm/yyyy format but when i publish it on service it is showing mm/dd/yyyy .
i want to change date format on service.

Hi ,

Based on the description, try to change the region to the UK.

But, if the date formate dd/mm/yyyy, slicer settings style between format still only shows mm/dd/yyyyy.

Try to use the vertical list style for slicer settings.

To fix Date Format Power BI Service:

1. Set Regional Settings in Desktop:

   • Go to File > Options > Regional Settings and choose the desired locale (e.g., English (United Kingdom) for dd/mm/yyyy).
   • Republish the report.

2. Update Service Locale:

   • In Power BI Service: Profile Picture > Settings > General > Locale, set the same locale as in Desktop.

3. Explicit Date Format:

   • In Desktop, select the date column > Column Tools > Format > Choose dd/mm/yyyy.

4. Browser Settings:

   • Ensure the browser's language/region matches the desired format.

5. Custom DAX Column (if needed):

   • Create: Formatted Date = FORMAT(YourTable[Date], "dd/mm/yyyy").

Align settings and republish to ensure consistency.

To ensure the date format is dd/mm/yyyy both in Power BI Desktop and Service, follow these steps:

   • Set the Locale for this report to a region that uses dd/mm/yyyy through  File > Options > Regional Settings.

2. In Power Query:

   • Ensure the date column is correctly formatted as a Date type in Power Query Editor.

3. In Power BI Service:

   • Set the Locale to a region with dd/mm/yyyy under Settings > Regional Settings in Power BI Service.
   • Ensure the slicer or date fields are formatted as dd/mm/yyyy in Power BI Desktop before publishing.

4. Refresh Settings:

   • Clear the browser cache and refresh the report in Power BI Service to apply the changes.
