separate schedule task for data refresh and subscriptions

HI Guys,

Here is my requirement, I need to refresh data on dialy basis and I need to get an email snapshot on monday and friday only.

so is it possible to create seperate scheduled task for data refresh and email subscription.

Hi Venu,

You can set up the scheduled refresh to from Monday to Friday. Then the email subscription won't email you on Saturday and Sunday because the dataset isn't updated. Please also refer to #considerations-and-troubleshooting for the limitations of email subscription.

As per my knowledge when ever refresh got failed then only you get the mail.

If your using Import method You can create seperate scheduled task for data refresh.

In Power BI Service dataset settings you can see the refresh history.

@Anonymous, you can setup a flow data trigger to send an email with Power BI however, I don't understand your full requirements of the email.

1) I want to refresh data daily

2) I want to get an email report only on Monday and Thursday.

3) I want to get an email report on last 3 days of the month.

As of my knowledge eitehr (1) or (2) can be possible but (1) and (2) is not possible within the same dataset so here I need to create one dataset for Daily and another dataset for weekly.

But the 3 is not possible at all.
