remove editing from a report published in a Team's workspace

Hi !

we use to publish our reports in the workspaces that are linked to the specific Team's workspace interested in the repoort (Sales report on the Sales Team, puchase report on the pruchase report and so on)

by default, all the members of a Team are owner of the published report. Therefore they can edit it.

How can I remove that editing right and make them reader only ?

(we are using pro licences only)

the workaround I found is to create as many workspaces as there are teams and publish the reports there. Then, I can gives the read permission to the memeber of the teams but it's paintfull to maintain.

Is there another workaround ?

kr

Fred

You can change their role to Viewer rather than Member. See these resources:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-roles-new-workspaces

https://radacad.com/best-practice-for-power-bi-workspace-roles-setup

Alternatively, you don't necessarily need to include them in a workspace at all but rather let them consume reports via published apps.
