Hi Team, I get report of size around 200kb will take around 1 hour to refresh in power bi desktop and then publish is very quick
but i find it does not refresh successfully in power bi service with error "Before the data import for finished, its data source timed out. Double-check whether that data source can process import queries, and if it can, try again". I do not understand why the refresh and publish is succesful in power bi desktop but still get error in power bi service online? Thank you.

What kind of datasource are you using? Is it an on premises database? If it is, you must have a Power BI Gateway in place to be able to refresh that dataset from the service.
1: I use power bi to connect ODBC to import data into the power bi.
2: yes, we get Gateway as attached, do you think my gateway has problem? need to upgrade?
If this is connecting to a sql database , postgresql , oracle and others, there are native connectors through the gateway. There is no need to use ODBC since that would be slower. When you refresh your dataset manually, what is the exact error you get on the refresh history log?
the error message in power bi service no matter refresh by demand or schedule, always is "Before the data import for finished, its data source timed out. Double-check whether that data source can process import queries, and if it can, try again."
