"View Usage Metrics Report" Option Not Visible in "More Options"

Hi, this is my first time posting in the community. Apologies if anything is unclear.

I would like to view historical user data using the "View Usage Metrics Report" option, but I cannot find this option in the More options menu.

Could you kindly help me understand why it is not showing up? Additionally, if there are any other methods to view usage data without using the "View Usage Metrics Report", please let me know.

Note:

  • I have published the report.
  • My license is Power BI Pro.
  • The report is in my workspace.

Oh, I see. You mentioned that the report is in my workspace, but this option is not available for it. Usage metrics are only available for reports in Workspaces that are:

  1. On Premium or Pro licenses.
  2. Not in a personal workspace (My Workspace).

So, try publishing the report in a premium or pro workspace and you must have at least a Contributor role in the workspace where the report is published. If you only have Viewer access, you cannot view the usage metrics.

If you find this insightful, please provide a Kudo and accept this as a solution.

Hi @Krit_N ,

For normal my workspace it is not working, but if I activate fabric trail it's working.

Thanks,

Sai Teja

Hi, @SaiTejaTalasila

Thank you for your information.

Could you please provide more details on how to activate Fabric Trail? Is it a separate application? Also, is it free or does it require a paid subscription after the trial?

Hi @Krit_N  ,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Here is the documentation to activate Fabric Trial:

Fabric trial capacity - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

Fabric is integrated within the Power BI ecosystem and is not a separate application. The Fabric Free Trial is available for 60 days at no cost. However, opting for Pro or Premium licenses requires a paid subscription.

@Krit_N You need to open the report first and then under 3 dots, you'll find that option. Refer to the screenshot below:

Thank you for your suggestion.

I have already opened the report, but I am unable to find the Open usage metrics there either.

Thank you for the clarification .

I will try publishing the report in a workspace and ensure I have the necessary permissions to access the usage metrics.
