I have upgraded from a very old version of the "Power BI Enterprise Gateway" to the latest "On Premise Data Gateway". The old version was working well and was able to connect Power BI service to on premise SSAS.
The upgrade process appeared to go smoothly, but when I open the On Premise Data Gateway app, on the status tab it says "<gateway name> is configured correctly but is unreachable due to local network connectivity problems". On the Network tab, it says "Local Network Status: Connected". And when I go to Manage Gateways on the web site, it says "Unable to connect: The gateway is either offline or could not be reached".
I have tried restarting the service, but no change.
Any one know how to fix this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
For anyone interested, I raised a ticket with Microsoft. The problem was that the upgrade did not work correctly - it did not upgrade all files successfully (such as config files). I had to uninstall and re-install the gateway.

@cmncp Have you tried to create a different data source connection to see if it is an issue with the existing data source in Power BI, or possibly something that changed in creds/server access, etc.
@Seth_C_Bauer I tried adding a new data source, but I get the error "The gateway is either offline or could not be reached". Nothing else changed from the server side. The gateway was working prior to the upgrade.
