Hi.

If I am using a local gateway and when I configure the gateway it connects correctly.
The data source is MySql. The problem arises when I update the report in power
bi service and the following message appears

Thanks for all the help you can give me.

It looks like the refresh process is timing out, 45+ mins to refresh that means the dataset is big or not optimized....Was the refresh process working before? How big is your dataset? in your desktop how long it takes for the report to refresh?

Like I mentioned earlier, the Gateway and credentials are all well setup but the refresh is Timing out, It happens when there is shortage memory in Power bi that would need adjustments (like moving to Premium Capacity) or you have to Optimize the performance of your report.

Let's try something: delete a visual (heavy one) or a page if you have multiple pages from your report and publish it to the same workspace but with different name. Refresh it and tell me how it goes!

Hi.

I already did it with only one page and only one visual object and only
linking a MySql table. Also the same error comes out.

Thanks for all the support.

I see,

You probably are going to need an ODBC driver to solve your problem

Hi Amine.

I followed your odbc recommendation, but when creating the
connection in the gateway I get an error, what should I put in the connection string?

Hey @ehuila

I found this

Solved: On-Premesis Gateway cannot connect to MySQl source - Microsoft Power BI Community

Try it before exploring ODBC, it might work for you.

No , not there that's the Gateway configuration and your Data source type is MySQL is it not?...

At the report level from the desktop, you need to change the connection string and use ODBC driver then republish it and try with the same Gateway that is already installed on Premises.

Make a test with one table , one visual and publish it. Let me know
