I have a desktop report that I publish to PowerBI online.
The data pulls from a SharePoint Online list which is set to English (New Zealand) in the regional settings.
I also control the date format in the Desktop model to be dd/MM/yyyy.
I have added a Date Slicer but if I choose the 'slider' option, which is what the business requires, then the date format reverts to US format when I publish - it shows correct in the Desktop instance.
If the Date Slicer is set to 'List' then it publishes in correct format!?!?
The PowerBI Online instance is set to Language > Default (browser language)
Any idea why or what I can do to correct?

Hi @sperry,
By my tests, you could change your Browser language to English (New Zealand). Then it will show the date format with dd/mm/yyyy.

Hi @sperry,
If I understand your sceanrio correctly that you set the date format with dd/MM/yyyy and create a date slicer in Power BI Desktop, but it show MM/dd/YYYY when you publish the report to Power BI Service?
Do you format the date with FORMAT function in Power BI desktop?
If the Date Slicer is set to 'List' then it publishes in correct format!?!?
It seems that it works correctly when you created the list date slicer, what kind of date slicer do you create when you have that issue?
In addition, what's the regional language do you set for your system?
Please describe your scenario in more details so that we could help further investigate on it?
Best Regards,
Cherry

I control the date format by using the Modeling tab in the Report View in PowerBI Desktop.
I need to use the 'Between' option in the 'Slicer' visual. It is the to and from dates that are showing incorrectly. If I select the 'List' option the dates are showing correctly but a list is not useful for the users.
The Regional settings in both PowerBI desktop and SharePoint is English (New Zealand) and PowerBI Online is Default (browser language)
Please let me know if there is anything else you need..
Thanks
Steve
