connection timeout on DirectQuery not publishing?

my dataset has millions of rows and i was trying to use DirectQuery and it was timeing out.
i saw it has a limit to 1 million rows BUT before that i updated my local desktop report and set the timeout = 30 mins.
published the report to online workspace and published to iFrame.
i was still getting the timeout and error says
More details: The XML for Analysis request timed out before it was completed. Timeout value: 225 sec.

i do not know if this timeout is that same one i updated, and if it is, why didn't it update?

or perhaps it has something to do with the internal calls to the data?

That relates to when it waits to get at least some data back from the DirectQuery

It would appear that after 225 seconds there is no data being sent from your source?
