capturing filter value passed from URL

I am passing filter values in URL as shown below:

https://app.powerbi.com/groups/me/reports/fb69f4fb-d432-4ba6-b855-a12e79354c3e/ReportSection?filter=... eq 'fr'

Can i capture value passed in URL in any variable and print it on the dashboard?

i.e i wanted to capture value 'fr'

Hi @nish2288,

Do you want to get the report filtered by the parameter and pin it to dashboard?

If it is, by my tests, if you want to pin the visual on the report with parametere filtered to dashoboard, it will still show all values without filter when you see it on the dashboard. So we may not achieve that directly.

As a workaround, you could Save the report as a copy ( File ——Save as) when you filter a report using query string parameters in the URL.

Then you will get a new report with the filtered value and you also could pin the visula with filtered data to dashboard.

Best Regards,

Cherry
