I get the next message:

"We can't finish signing you up.
Your IT department has turned off signup for Microsoft Power BI. Contact them to complete signup"

When I contact IT they offer to give me a Pro license, but I don't need/want a Pro license, I am fine just with the 'free' version... Can IT give me a 'free' version or is this "signup turned off" to avoid giving "free" versions?

Your IT Department can certainly grant you a free Power BI license.

I would just take the pro license if that is what on offer and you can at least continue to work?
