Tried to add a group for access to a report, which I've done many times before, but seems I can now only add users!
The list says "People and groups with access", but there's only the "+ add user" button, and I can't search/select groups when adding in people/emails.
I'm really tired of trying to figure out these consistant changes.
Can someone please tell me how to add an AD group, rather than an AD user, access to my (online) powerbi report?
Solved! Go to Solution.
We only provide access in our organisation to security groups, never individuals. This functionality is still working for us. I tried just then.
Was this security group created just before you attempted this? Perhaps it hadn't finished propagating yet.

Yep was the group type.
The one I was trying to add was a sync from the old on-prem days that had been renamed and the replacement group (I've been using in emails and such) was a Microsoft 365 group. Odd that the M365/cloud-based groups don't work in their cloud-based Fabric plaform.
Thanks Ross,
I used to be able to add the group, but won't show up any more. I wonder if its the group type that might be causing it now. Appreciate you running a test on your end to check. Thought I was loosing it.
