Hi Experts,
I'm new to power bi and I came across the word AD group, is this some kinda group where workspaces are created or what is it?
Please help me on understanding this and do the needful.
Thanks,
Heena Kousar

@Heena_9980400 The Power BI Service requires you to authenticate to it via an Azure Active Directory (AAD) account. These accounts are often placed into AAD groups and permissions to workspaces and such then use these groups.
If you are only using the Desktop and not publishing to the Service, then you technically don't need any kind of authentication.
@Heena_9980400 AD = Active Directory. Now-a-days this is often Azure Active Directory.
Hi @Greg_Deckler
Thanks for your response.
Please can you help me in understanding why actually we required it?
