What credentials do I use for AWS Redshift connection to Power BI

Hi there,

I have recently configured my AWS redshift Datawarheouse.

I would now like to connect to it however I keep getting an invalid credentials error.

What credentials am I using for the settings below (with red)? E.g. My AWS Iam User, my AWS Role, or my Database username and pasword.

And where can I get the infromation from? E.g. Where does this corrospond to in the AWS console.

Hi  @asherbowden ,

You can set the following:

  1. Data Source Name – Amazon Redshift Private VPC.
  2. Data Source Type – Amazon Redshift.
  3. Server – Replace with the value of the [RedshiftClusterEndpoint] key from the AWS CloudFormation Stack Outputs
  4. Database – Enter the name of the Amazon Redshift database, which you provided earlier as part of the CloudFormation stack parameters. The default is dev.
  5. Username – Enter your database username, which you provided earlier as part of the CloudFormation stack parameters.
  6. Password – Enter your database password, which you provided earlier as part of the CloudFormation stack parameters.

For specific connection information, you can check the following link:

https://aws.amazon.com/cn/blogs/big-data/integrate-power-bi-with-amazon-redshift-for-insights-and-an...

This issue could be caused by that Power BI Service talks to wrong redshift URL.
