Trying to link our server from the portal domain, however we can ping the powerBI service, but we are unable to connect. We think due to firewall issues not enabling the correct TCP port. Which tcp port should we be enabling?
I m trying to publish from Power BI Desktop and unable to do so. Seems like firewall/ port issue.
Here, I m not trying to configure on-premises data refresh.
Is there a specific port that I need to open in order to publish Power BI Reports?
I m using Impala for Data Source and able to connect to the source from within the box.
If you have port 80 open it should be able to connect, unless you have proxy settings that make it difficult.
We can try port 80, although i believe we are already using that becuase we can ping the website (http), but the issue is that we cannot establish a connection. I'm curious if the connection is sql 1433/1434 based or something else.
there maybe firewall/proxy rules that could allow you to ping but not communicate over port 80.. I would escalate it to your network team.
Is this related to just trying to access the Power BI service or is this related to the Power BI Personal Gateway or something else?
We are trying to connect from our portal domain server to the power BI service. I'm not sure what the power BI personal gateway is, but as of right now we can psping the power BI service, but we fail to connect. In troubleshooting, we found out there is a firewall wich all the port essentially shut down. The administrator has asked which ports require port forwarding in order to establish the connection.
