We couldn't publish an exists report to exists workspace

Hello,

We are conducting Power BI operations within a workspace that has a Pro license type and is used by a Pro license user.

First of all, when we try to publish a new report to our actively used workspace named ISU KOKPIT using Power BI Desktop, we encounter the following error:

  • Request ID: 00866d7b-79bd-4798-ab94-e65aa5c2c392
  • Activity ID: 09c0869b-5177-46fa-a2db-6040804bef87
  • Service URL: https://wabi-west-europe-redirect.analysis.windows.net/
  • Error Code: ModelOperatorOperationFailedException
  • Session ID: 09c0869b-5177-46fa-a2db-6040804bef87
  • Client Version: 2.139.2054.0

To identify the issue, we have tried the following methods but have not reached a solution:

  • The ISU KOKPIT workspace currently uses only 500 MB out of its 10GB capacity.
  1. We cannot upload any report to the ISU KOKPIT workspace. However, when we publish a new report under the same name as an existing report within the workspace, the upload is successful.
  2. We can publish the problematic report to a different workspace without any issues.

Based on these findings, we anticipate that the problem is not with the report itself but with the ISU KOKPIT workspace.

Additionally, log records have been captured within the report for this process, and we can attach these logs if u want to review.

Thx for ur interest.

We tried the suggestions offered but could not find a solution.

So we found the solution by opening a new workspace and publishing the reports there.

thanks

Hi @selsorg You are right, the issue is most likely within the workspace. Few things to check -

  1. Do the people that are trying to publish reports to ISU KOKPIT have access to the workspace under an appropriate workspace role?
  2. Any chance you can remove the workspace and re-add it to your PBI capacity?
  3. Have you noticed anything unusual in your captured logs? You can try doing a comparison between publishing this report to ISU KOKPIT and to a different workspace that will accept the report.

Let me know how you make out.
