Hello,
I went through several documentations of Microsoft and watched a lot of videos but could not get an answer to my question.
We've set up a use-case where we get data by a streaming dataset (push dataset). This streaming dataset is already working, and also it is working for us to show the data in a dashboard with this streaming dataset in it that refreshes each 3 seconds.
Now, when I see the Microsoft documentations about automatic page refresh (Automatic page refresh in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs), it says that in a Power BI Pro workspace, the maximum of a page refresh is once all 30 minutes.
Does this not apply for using streaming datasets?
As we are having the Premium license model only, that is why I think yes..
Thank you & Best Regards,
Johann

Hi @Johann_32
Yes you're right. Automatic Page Refresh only applies when you have a Streaming dataset or Direct connection to real-time data. It allows you to refresh the visualisations in a Report on a schedule you setup. This is not the same as Refresh on an Import model Dataset on a Pro workspace, where you are limited to 8 refreshes per day with 30 minutes between refreshes.
Hope this helps

Hi @Johann_32
No, it's not possible to have Filters in a Streaming Dashboard. From the documentation ...
Unfortunately, streaming datasets do not support filtering. For push datasets, you can create a report, filter the report, and then pin the filtered visuals to a dashboard. However, there is no way to change the filter on the visual once it's on the dashboard.
Separately, you can pin the live report tile to the dashboard, in which case you can change the filters. However, live report tiles will not update in real-time as data is pushed in – you'll have to manually update the visual by using the refresh dashboard tiles option in the More menu.
See Real-time streaming in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs for the full details.

Maybe you can also help me with an additional question.. Is it possible to have have Filters in the Streaming Dataset Dashboards?
Or is it a limitation so far, that filtering data in a Livestream Dashboard is not possible? Thank you
