I'm new to my company and there is a strong desire to consolidate dashboards into a single workspace such so they can create a dashboard to include tiles from all reports as an executive summary or senior leader view. This approach doesn't suit me as a BI Analyst because I'd have a tougher time controlling access to specific reports. RLS will just show blank reports if I used that alone to control data release. And it'll look terrible.
What would be great is if the user could create a personal dashboard.
Then they'll be able to take tiles from the reports they have access to and get to that information very quickly.
Step 1: Collect the data. The first step after you launch the Power BI application is to gain access to your data.
Step 2: Explore your dashboard.
Step 3: Choose the right chart.
Step 4: Save & publish your dashboard.
I know how to create them. I'm talking about dashboards not reports.
@Anonymous can please tell the sets to do that
Hi Greg, unless I'm wrong and could be shown how I'm very certain you can not create a dashboard within a personal workspace whilst taking visuals from other reports within other workspaces. Sorry if I didn't make that clear as to my intention behind this idea.
Ideally they'd be able to compile one landing page full of the most important metrics to them from what ever workspace/app they've got access to.
