Use Power BI dataset with scheduled Refresh in Power BI desktop

I am using a Power BI dataset which has scheduled refresh into my Power BI desktop file which is not published.

I have noticed that when I open the .pbix file on my desktop app, the data is refreshed.

I wanted to know if the .pbix file refreshes all of my other datasets from our shared drive when it picks up power bi dataset after each schedued refresh.

Are you wondering if the local B PBIX file that is connected to the A dataset on Service will automatically refresh when A refreshes? It is no, he local B report will only load the latest data from the data source (i.e. A dataset) when you open the it and then click refresh button or interact with visuals.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.

"scheduled refresh into my Power BI desktop file"  - that's not a thing.  Are you connecting via Direct Query maybe?

@lbendlin Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the confusion. I meant live connection to a dataset which is published on Service. When I pick up this data from Power BI datasets.
