I am getting an error:
"You can't schedule refresh for this dataset because the following data sources currently don't support refresh:
Data source for Query1."
Problem being that I don't *have* a Query1 so I have no idea which of the many, many sources in this pbix is the problem. No, I cannot post the file, the data is not public. I attempted to upload a fresh pbix with an example of each source but so far no pbix could recreate the error, so I can't even post a sanitized version.
Those things that need a gateway are showing a different, much more intelligible error.
Hi, @j_ocean ;
You could try to check if you just retrieved data, do you do any steps in Query Editor, eg: Append Queries, Merge Queries? Please try to update the desktop and gateway version.

Quite a lot of things are being done to the data, it's not just retrieval. Since I don't know which source is kicking out the error I can't give any meaningful details. Lots of merges filters pivots and string functions, but nothing unusual compared to other pbix's that do work.
The Desktop version is the current "for Report Server" version. There is no gateway, as mentioned that causes a different, expected error that does not exist on other files.
Hey @j_ocean in your PBIX if you go into PQ and click on data sources it should give the same indication at the bottom of Hand Authored Queries.What I then do if I don't know which one it is, I then delete a table and go and check the data source setting again.It is a bit painful but then I know which table it is and then look to resolve the issue
I'm afraid I don't see where you're directing me to. In Power Query, the only thing in Home > Data Sources is "Data Source Settings," in which the only mention of hand authored queries is a general warning statement "Some data sources may not be listed because of hand authored queries." Which doesn't narrow things down.
Edit: I get the same warning on another PBIX that does not have the same issue in Service.
