Hi All,
One of the user created report directly in service and not using power bi desktop. Now they want to replicate the same report for other departments but when i went to service and tried downloading .pbix file for same, the option is greyed out. Is there any way by which i can download the .pbix of report created online or in service.
Thanks.
Hi,
Download the .pbix file option is available but when clicked a message will appear:
I'm not yet sure if this is admin closing the download function issue but will confirm it with our IT department.
Hope someone enlighten me if that is the issue or not.
Regards
HI @Anonymous
From this article, you can see there is a limitation:

@GilbertQ Thanks for sharing it, but now next issue how i / user can publish the report created in service to the other workspace? I checked and don't see any way to do the same, do let me know if you know if it's can be done? I think the only wany i have now is to create the report in PBI desktop and then create replica's of the same.
Thanks.
Hi @Anonymous
Have you tried to do the following where you can copy the reports as per my blog post below.
Hi Gilbert
Great catch. I was using V1 and used the same workflow on V2 Workspace. Works like charm.
Thanks !!!
Cheers
Mahak
Hi,
I tested the same thing on my PBI service and found similar. You cannot download the report which is created directed in the power bi service. I am the admin of the workspace and can download the other ones but not the one created in service.
Need to explore it but I dont think there is straight option to do that.
Cheers
Mahak
