Hi,
I have created a report by connecting directly to an Amazon Redshift data source (not through an ODBC driver) and am unable to refresh this report on PBI Service, seemingly due to a credentials issue.
When entering in my credentials for my Redshift data source from the dataset settings menu, I recieve the following error message:
Failed to update data source credentials: ODBC: ERROR [08S01] [Microsoft][Amazon Redshift] (10) Error occurred while trying to connect: [SQLState 08S01] could not connect to server: Permission denied (0x0000271D/10013) Is the server running on host "ServerName" (#.#.#.#) and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5439? I have verified that I can connect to the Redshift source through SQL clients and Power BI Desktop using the same credentials. Ultimately, I'm unable to refresh the report on PBI Service as I cannot seem authenticate credentials, but oddly enough, refreshing works fine on the corresponding PBI Desktop file.
Hi @tjamal ,
I think this should more related to amazon redshift whitelist, power bi use azure data center to handle data refresh.
So if whitelist is enabled on your datasource, these requests may blocked if you haven't add them to your list.
