Hi,
Can anyone please help me on the below error. Despite my efforts to fine-tune, I continue to encounter a Timeout error when applying incremental refresh. The process functions properly when incremental refresh is disabled; however, the dataset is substantial, containing approximately 80 million records (2.5GB).
Data Source : Shared Folder (XLS files).
Yours suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Rathod
It seems like you are indeed hitting the timeout limit for the initial refresh of your data model (the two hour limit that you are observing).
Applying incremental refresh may cause the initial load to be slightly slower than without the policy, hence you seeing a timeout when applying it.
A potential solution is to bootstrap your initial full data load, by publishing a version of the datamodel with a parameter that limits the amount of data. Subsequently you can use Tabular Editor or SSMS to connect to your datamodel via the XMLA endpoint, and from here adjust the parameter, as well as fine tune your incremental refresh partitions: Advanced incremental refresh and real-time data with the XMLA endpoint in Power BI - Power BI | Micr...

Hi Jonvoge,
Thank you for your suggestion, but at the moment, the data source is being retrieved from flat files (Excel files in a shared folder).
Could you please provide your suggestions on this matter?
