We have a workspace where access to reports and dashboards is given through an app with different audiences. There is a dashboard that we want to share daily per e-mail - we have created a subscription which goes to a colleagues and is then forwarded to a specified distribution list. All of the recipients of the email (with the screenshot of the dashboard visual and the .png attached) have a Pro license and are also assigned access to the dashboard through the app, although they are not all in the same audience. The access through the link included in the subscription email doesnt work, because they do not have access to the workspace itself, only through app - I found this issue described here: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/App-Subscriptions-Access-to-report-versus-Link-to-...
How can we make a subscription from the app itself, also considering that the recipients are part of different audiences? We want the link in the subscription lead them to the app
Solved! Go to Solution.
Make sure the Management Report is shared with all app audiences.

That breaks the security chain.

They don't need a Pro license if the app has been shared with them.

Open the app, navigate to the dashboard, create the subscription.
The distribution through a colleague is a legacy thing, the subscription could be done directly for the distribution list.
We have now created the subscription from the app directly this way:
Tested it with a user from audience Internal Sales, that has access to this dashboard through the app, and the user gets the following message when clicking on the link in the subscription email :
How do we make the subscription in a way that all different audiences that have access to the dashboard can actually access through the link in the subscription email?
Make sure the Management Report is shared with all app audiences.
Thanks, I think the issue is that we are sharing a dashboard that is based on a Management report. The dashboard is shared with all audiences but the underlying report is not. When the user accesses the dashboard through the app, they encounter no issues. But when they try to access it through the subscription link it gives an error
