Stop schedule refresh when empty

Is there a nice way to stop a scheduled refresh for when a table is empty?

I've noticed it will wipe out data on the refresh when a problem occurs in a data warehouse table.

I was considering introducing a schema change when I know a data warehouse table has failed to load so that power bi won't lose the previous days data.

How is everyone else handling this situation?

Have you consider to use Microsoft flow to control schedule refresh?
