Staffing plan - Weekly

Hi,

We have a forcast staffing plan for each project. and it is weekly basis for 2 years.

1-The column header should be Week ending date. I already have a Date table in quary, but I couldn't connet to my staffing plan. Should I add the dates manually every time in power BI for each visualization? Are there any ways to group the dates or connect them to the Date table?

2-The table shows hours for each week. How can I add a condition to devide the hours in each week by the specific number for example 2? so then I could have a second graph/ table that shows staffing plan by weekly which hours are divided by 2.

Hi @Sisi

You would still connect your data table to the date table on the date, even if your date is only for the end of each week.

If you bring the data table into your model you should flatten the data, meaning instead of having it run across in columns, you want it to run down in rows. You could then filter it to find where the hours = 2

@GilbertQ

Thank you, but I am not looking for hours=2. Sorry I should have explained more about my second question.

I want to have a FTE ( Full Time Equivalent ) chart.  Some employees should work 40 hours a week and some 50.  I need to add a condition column to my data table, so then it divids hours for each employee by 40 or 50 based on my condition. The same chart but just all the hours divided by 40 or 50.

Hi @Sisi

If you can identify the FTE in your data, you could then apply the dividing by 40 hours for them?

I guess I should create a second table for FTE in excel.

Btw dates still not working. If I change rows and columns, then I need to add names manually.

I have more than 100 weeks and 300 employees. Are there any ways that I can group headers in the Fields?

Hi @Sisi

Yes you would want the dates to be in a date column and all the employee numbers to be in another column?

Hi,

I want to have a table the same as my excel file, so dates should go to the values, and employees and project number needs to go to rows.
