Sorting a table hides a record

I have a table filtered down to a single row.  When sorted ascending the row does not appear.  When I change to sorted descending the row appears.

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

1) When Power BI is not sorting numbers correctly, first check that the data type is correct.
The most common cause of this error is a number assigned a non-numeric data type. If they are setup in Power BI as text or a mix of numbers and text it will cause a sorting error. 
2) Check Calculated Columns and Measures. When calculations fail, they can result in null values or errors. Power BI will not interpret these correctly and Power BI will not sort these values. Sometimes they will appear as null or blanks.
3) Sometimes sorting by a column from another table can behave differently due to relationships in the data model. This is more noticeable if the column is linked to a measure or calculated column, since their results depend on the filter context. To check, remove all filters and sort again to see if the row appears in both ascending and descending order.

It seems like your row might have a null or blank value that's being pushed to the bottom in ascending order and also check the column for any missing values and ensure the correct data type is set.

 

Could you provide a sample of the data you're working with? It would help me give you a more accurate solution for sorting the row correctly.

I'm not sure what you mean by "being pushed to the bottom".  There is no bottom, it's just a single row.

 

I also don't know what you mean by "missing values".  The client column has a value for the row, as can be seen in the image.

 

The datatype for the Client is string, so that looks correct.

 

I could attempt to anonymize the data and simplify the report for sharing, but that could take significant time.

 

@jpers36 since the visual isn’t behaving as expected, you’ll need to go through the checklist in the Data Model rather than the visual itself. If the issue persists, providing a data sample would help me investigate further.

I'm still not following what you're saying.  By "checklist" do you mean your hypotheses in your previous comment?  If so, does that mean you're saying that a blank or null client, even if filtered out, can have an impact on the visual?  I am filtering down to this single client based on client name.

In your case @jpers36 providing a sample would be helpful in identifying and fixing the issue
