Hey,
Trying to sign-in using my organizational account in the powebi app and I get an HTTP 500 error. No issue using Edge or IE.
I tried clearing the cache but to no avail.
Any ideas?

Hi @RogerSteinberg,
It may be that your browser is getting confused. Maybe you logged in to another program using credentialsA and somehow Chrome still wants to use credentialsA for your Power BI account. Even tho you use credentialsB for Power BI. Does that make sense? Chrome can also get confused if you've ever logged in to Power BI using a different set of credentials in the past.
That's why I suggested clearing browser history and browser cache and even restarting computer to see if that fixes the problem.
Take care,
Michele
Hi @RogerSteinberg ,
Have you tried using an Incognito window? In Chrome, from upper right corner, select dots and choose New Incognito window.
Michele
No I haven't . I'd rather not try alternatives that goes away from the normal process. I receive links from reports on my outlook and by clicking on them , it automatically opens a chrome window.
Hi @RogerSteinberg ,
I think you might encounter the known issue below. Please try to update the Google Chrome browser to the latest version.

Hi, Chrome is up to date already and im not using a Mac. I dont think this issue applies to my situation
Hi @RogerSteinberg ,
Like Michele said, it might be caused by your account. If it still can't work after changing account, please create a support ticket to get the dedicated support.

Sorry I am not sure I follow. This is my work computer and I've only logged in using my organizational account.
Do you mean I have to contact the adminstrator of the company to see what could be causing this ?

Hi @RogerSteinberg ,
Can you please share the steps what you did that cause the issue? Like you entered the website and then what you click and choose.
If you have pro license, it may be better to follow the steps of the gif above to create a support ticket. It is faster and safer than in forums to get help.

Xue Ding

Hey michelle it works on incognito.
Hi Roger,
That makes me think it's an account confusion problem. I use Incognito to ensure that Power BI doesn't think I'm using a different account. Sometimes I have a lot of browser tabs open, and in one of them I've logged in using accountA. So when I open another tab, or if I don't log out properly from AccountA, then Power BI still thinks I'm using AccountA but I really want to use AccountB which is my account for Power BI. DOes this make sense? Could it be that Chrome is getting confused?
To test this, you could reboot your computer and open brand new Chrome window and see if it works. ANd/or clear cache.
HTH,
Michele
The point of incognito mode is not to hide your identity from the rest of the world, it’s to hide your interactions with the internet from the PC you’re using (and the Google account you’re logged into).
