Sharing Power Bi report in Teams with Power BI free users

Hello

I tried to share a Power BI report through a Teams channel. It went ok, but Power BI forced the external user (added as guest) to activate a 60 days trial period of Pro. Did that and it works. But does it work without the Pro license?

What could have gone wrong? I shared it from My Workspace.

Where can I delete the activated trial license in order to be able to test again, without waiting 59 days;-).

I found elsewere info that sharing in Teams would be possible without the end user to have a Pro license. how-to-share-power-bi-report-with-non-pro-users.html  . Still possible, or not?

Thanks in advance, JJ

You must have the right license so users can see the report, in addition to permissions either to the workspace or site where the report is published (Teams, SharePoint, etc.). You seem to have permissions set, so it is about licensing.

If it is a Pro workspace, then the user must have a pro license, or it will just show a white box or the Power BI logo.

If it is a Premium per User workspace, then the user must have a PPU license.

If it is a Premium capacity workspace, then the user must have a Power BI Free license, or a PPU/Pro license will work too.

Bottom line is you can create Power BI reports for free all day long. But you cannot share them unless the receipient has the correct license level, or it is in a Premium capacity workspace, which are corporate level workspaces that start at $4,995/mo.

Hi @JussiJ

II want to recommend Webdahsboard. With Webdashboard you can easily share your Power BI reports and dashboards, with an intern and external users. All you need is an e-mail address. It's also available for Teams.

You can try Webdashboard for 30 days and if you need any help, they will quickly react. It's available at the Microsoft App Source and for more information, you can visit the website: www.webdashboard.com
