Shared Datasets, Modeling Roles and Multiple Workspaces

Is it possible to invoke Modeling Role Security in a report that exists within a workspace that is using a shared dataset yet allow users to be a Contributor?

In my example I have a "Master" workspace with shared datasets. Users are restricted to a View permission within this workspace yet are given Build permissions on the applicable dataset. It appears that the data Modeling Role security will be applied here and they will only be able to view the data they're authorized to access. The data also appears to be restricted within a users desktop app when connected to this dataset.

However, I would like to create a second workspace to which they can publish their reports that are using this shared dataset. In order to publish here, they must be granted a Contributor or higher workspace permission. Once a report is published to this second workspace, the data Modeling Role security doesn't appear to apply and they can see all the data content.

Hi there

As far as I am aware as soon as a user has any role above viewer they get full access to the data that is secured via RLS.
