Semantic Model owner name missing

I recently published a report to a shared workspace, and I noticed that the owner is now displayed as the workspace name instead of my own name, which was the previous behavior. Has there been a change in how ownership is displayed?

Hi @Asamoah1

In shared workspaces, the “Owner” can show the workspace (or a service principal) if the model was published by automation/service principal, someone used Take over, or it’s an auto-created model (e.g., from Lakehouse/Warehouse). Nothing is “missing” it’s just who owns it now.

How to check/fix fast

  1. Open the semantic model >> Settings >> About >> see the Owner.

  2. Want your name there? Click Take over (you need Contributor or above).

  3. If it was published by automation (service principal), either keep it that way or republish from your Desktop so you’re the owner.

  4. If you’re looking at Contacts, change them under Settings >> Endorsement & discovery >> Contacts (that’s not the Owner).
