Semantic Model not refreshing

I am new to Power BI & have been learning a lot but I am running into some issues. I cannot get my semantic model to refresh when using the Power BI Service. I set everything up on desktop & publish it but it won't let me schedule a refresh because I get this failure everytime.

  • Data source errorScheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh.

Now initially I set up a Web API through Anonymous & was connected to excel sheets. The I connected the excel sheets through a sharepoint folder. I separated the Web API & sharepoint folder to try to isolate the issue & same on both separate semantic models. Finally, I created a dataflow with the web api (still through anonymous) & same error. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you @suparnababu8 for your response.

Hi @435kal,

We sincerely appreciate your inquiry on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

In addition to the response provided by suparnababu8, kindly consider the following steps to determine if they resolve the issue:

  1. Ensure that the dataflow is correctly configured and has the necessary access to the data sources. Verify that the dataflow refreshes successfully in Power BI Service.
  2. Attempt to refresh the dataset manually in Power BI Service and check whether the issue is resolved. If the manual refresh is successful, enable the scheduled refresh for the dataset.
  3. Validate the SharePoint connection by ensuring that the URL entered in Power BI Desktop is correct. If prompted, enter the credentials for the SharePoint data source in Power BI Service.

If you find our response helpful, kindly mark it as the accepted solution and provide kudos. This will assist other community members facing similar queries.

Thank you.
