Hello can somebody tell me how i can activate a schedule refresh for a powerbi dashboard for a Excel document without installing a on-premise gateway.

get data and then the sharepoint option for a map connection but i want to activate the schedule refresh its grey out and i need a onpremise gateway install there must be a option you dont need a onpremise gateway for a schedule refresh with a axcel document

You can do it by keeping your excel file in a web url anywhere. then refer the excel file using http or https://<path> of your excel file .

You will not require on-premise gateway.

Alternatively, excel can be kept as google sheet also and then in your Power BI refer the google sheet. This also will not need on-premise gateway.

yes this is the way i load my data in at this point but because i also have a SQL data ste in this dashboard i cant use the schedule refresh functie. if i delete the SQL data from the powerbi file than i can use the schedule refresh optie again.

does anyone now a fix for this without a ON-Premises gateway
