When I run a report in Power BI Services and I go to copy the URL to each page of the report, there are some pages that do not show the "ReportSection" in the URL.
Curiously, on these pages, it does not allow me to filter via the URL. On the pages that do show "ReportSection", it does allow me to filter by URL (for example, "?filter=Year eq 2022")
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Hi, @rajendraongole1, thanks for your reply.
I've tried it too and it doesn't work. On those pages where the ReportSection doesn't appear, the filtering and parameters DO NOT work even if I manually copy the ReportSection to the URL.
Regards.
Hi @ajcolorado - The behavior you're encountering in Power BI Service, where some pages do not include ReportSection in the URL and therefore do not allow filtering via URL parameters, is related to how the report pages are configured and navigated.
Try navigating to the page explicitly using the navigation bar and copying the URL again.
If this doesn’t work, manually append the ReportSection ID by referencing the correct page name in Power BI Desktop.Confirm that the affected report pages support filtering by enabling filters via URL in Power BI Desktop before publishing.Ensure the columns and tables you are filtering on are configured correctly and exist in the report visuals for those pages.
Eg: <ReportURL>?filter=TableName/ColumnName eq 'Value'&ReportSection=PageID
Hope this helps.
