I would love being able to connect to an on premise Report Server dataset in the same manner as I can connect to an on premise SQL Server Analysis database.
They work pretty much the same way dont they? Is this possible somehow? If not, is it a requested feature I can vote for somewhere?
We want to use the PowerBI Service but are currently limited to the 1GB dataset size limit. Currently we host larger datasets on prem in SSAS Tabular databases. However, being able to create these datasets with PowerBI Desktop instead, publishing them to a local Report Server, would make a huge differens in user friendliness.
