can I ask for your help? We have a 238 Gb Oracle db, that we loaded in Pbi Desktop (2mb file size). The load took around 4 hours, then we published to Service environment with Incremental refresh. The publishing was successful, however, we are not able to refresh. We set max refresh time out to 6 hours. The following response is coming from the system:
Scheduled 9/26/2019, 10:32:43 AM 9/26/2019, 3:33:00 PM Failed Before the data import for finished, its data source timed out. Double-check whether that data source can process import queries, and if it can, try again.

Not sure if the Oracle connection handles SQL code, we tried /* Select Top (100), from Db. ...... this code did not work
We can still refresh on desktop, and publish again the latest data, however, we want to automate this. Please advise
Hi @martijnth ,
According to this document, Scheduled refresh for imported datasets timeout after two hours. This timeout is increased to five hours for datasets in Premium workspaces. So could you please check the following things?
1. The connection status of gateway.
2. The Configure of Incremental refresh in Power BI Service, please refer to this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-premium-incremental-refresh
3. How much time will refresh take in Power BI Desktop after you configure Incremental refresh?

2), set correctly (running more report with Inc.refr. but not as large)
3). 4 hours
reg.
Hi @martijnth ,
According to your addition information, We think your refresh time is too long to reach the limitation of 5 hours, Although the refresh in desktop occour 4 hours, but the refresh in Power BI Service may take more time due to some reason such as network performancee. We think you can try to test decrease the refresh range, check the M query and data model to find out the reason why refresh take so much time.
