I have a SharePoint list that I exported to Power BI. I created reports and a dashboard via Power BI Service. Today, I added new columns into the SharePoint List which I want to incorporate into my Power BI reports/dashboard. When I refresh, the new columns do not appear.
How do I get the new columns into my Power BI dataset? This is via Service only, not Power BI desktop.
I went into the dataset and did an update multiple times; no added columns and no options to search for new columns. I also tried opening the data lake dataset in PowerBI desktop since there are usually more options there. Same issue and same options, which means not many. Unless someone else has something I can do I will try to create a new dataset and report and hook that to my dashboard. Not ideal, but may be a lesson learned to have SharePoint List complete before creating a PowerBI report/dashboard.
Hopefully someone can prove me wrong!
I am not 100% sure but it does look like you would need to create a new Power BI report to get the new columns.
If it is possible could you go to the dataset for the SharePoint list and see if you can update it there?
