Real time email alerts - Streaming data

All,

 

I would like to implement real time data alerts in PowerBI Report. I read that my data must be streaming dataset inorder to do this. (email alerts)

 

If I have a scheduled refresh on my gateway to pick up excel files in a local folder will this count as streaming data?

    Hi aishak12 ,

     

    Scheduled refresh and real-time streaming are not the same thing.  A scheduled refresh is a limited number of refreshes per day (based on your license type).  A real-time dataset is "real time" and not limited by a set number of refreshes.
