Publishing Dataset with SharePoint & GateWay

Hello All,

I am facing an issue with a dataset that is using SharePoint Excel File & SSAS connection through GateWay.

Everytime I publish the dataset I have to re-connect the GateWay manually otherwise the refresh will not work.

Is there a way to avoid this ?

Hi Salonic,

I have tested on your issue but couldn’t reproduce your issue, please check if other data sources have been loaded into your report when you publish your report to service. If still can’t solve your issue, for further test, please provide the specific steps when you publish new dataset and the error message.

Jimmy Tao

Hello,

Thank for taking time to reply,

Here is the case :

1- Open Power BI Desktop

2- Create a new table with local SSAS

3- Create a new table with an Excel on sharepoint

4- Publish the document

5- On powerbi.com attached the SSAS connexion to the GateWay (Use on-prem data gateway)

6- For the connexion to sharepoint choose OAuth2 & Sign in

7- Refresh the data on powerbi.com, it should work since all the sources are linked

8- Return to Power BI Desktop

9- Publish the document

10- Refresh will not work anymore, you will have to attach the GateWay again
