Published dashboard failed to refresh data queried from SQL server

My published dashboard failed to refresh with this error

image.png

I have checked the dataset setting page, and see only one credential for kusto

image.png

However, in PowerBI PC client, there are two data source settings, one for kusto and one for SQL server

I suspect it's because of the SQL credential missing fails the refresh. Why it's missing? How to fix it?

No, this actually didn't resolve my question. I am not sure why gateway is needed here when https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/power-bi-data-sources said gateway is not needed for Azure SQL

Hi @yifguo ,

It seems that your report contains two data sources (Kusto and SQL Server) based on your screenshots, Kusto has been added as data source in Power BI Server, but the SQL server still not be added... Did you install and configure any gateway before? The gateway is required if the data source is SQL Server.  And if your dataset contains multiple data sources, each data source must be added within the gateway. You can refer to this documentation to add them within gateway.

In addition, please click "Edit Credentials " to update the credential of data source "Kusto".

They want you to refresh the credentials in the workspace, not it the .pbix file.

Click the "Edit credentials"  link and re-authenticate.

But the problem is there isn't a "SQL credential" or something like that in the workspace.

In PowerBI PC client, I can see two connections

But in workspace, there is only one Kusto credential.
