Publish report change PowerBI service dataset

Hi,

I have the following scenario:

1)Create a report in PowerBI desktop, choose PowerBI service as a dataset

2)Publish report into TEST workspace within API - all is fine here

3)Get report pbix file and do the same for UAT workspace, because the report is associated with PowerBI service test dataset, publish into UAT failed.

If I use a direct connection string in PowerBI desktop I can publish a report to any workspace and dataset is generated automatically,
but in a case when I use common PowerBI service dataset, it is not possible.

Is there any way to handle this issue?

Thank you,

Regards Marcin

Hi there

You would have to move both the report and dataset to another workspace.

Hopefully sooner than later they are going to release shared datasets, which will allow you to have a single dataset shared across multiple workspaces.
