Hi!
I´m quite new to Power BI but I got some experience with reporting and other BI-Tools. Im testing Power BI for my company and have a problem that drives me nuts.
I have a little problem with some visuals. They are quite simple (top-n hotel revenue with 5 stars/4 stars/avg length of stay... easy stuff) but don´t work properly. I shared this via a link with my colleagues. This is what it have to look like and how it´s in my Power BI:
Easy. But this is how my colleagues see it... but not all the time. Sometimes it works perfect... sometimes not. It´s completly random!
Instead of my top-n selection they get all hotels (400+) in an alphabetical order, which is absolutly useless. This is my filter selection:
So whats my mistake and why it´s not working? 😞
Thanks!
Hi @ChrisLie,
As you said, it's random. I can't reproduce it. Here are some possible causes.
1. One thing to verify. Did you share the Dashboard and the users go to the report through the Dashboard tiles?
2. The users can interact with the reports. In other words, users can change the filters.
3. Did you make some changes in your report and save the changes? Then the users will see the changes too.
Best Regards,
Dale
Hi!
Thanks for your reply. I shared the Dashboards via a link.
What do you mean when you say "the users go to the report through the Dashboard tiles"?
The "users" can´t change all the presetted filters. They can only change the period. But there are 4 more visuals on this Dashboard which work perfectly all the time:
But theres one difference: the 4 working visuals obove have only the top-n filter. The other ones got a second visual level filter based on hotel stars.
And no, I didn´t change anything. I set up the Dashboard and one day later a colleague said that a few of the visuals aren´t working. At the moment it looks like a bug to me.
But I can provide you the link because I just used dummy data 🙂
