Powerbi Desktop | Powerbi Service | Incremental Refresh
I have premium per user license of powerbi.
I had my dashboards connected with a real time data placed in azure cosmos db using direct query.
The report was so slow so i changed the connection to import and implemented incremental refresh. After which although the data wasnt refreshing automatically the report became so quick in powerbi desktop.
When i publish it to powerbi service the report becomes so slow that its taking minutes to load , again more minutes when i apply slicer.
I am new to powerbi. Plz Helppp!

Hi, @ShahidYumeen
Thanks for lbendlin's reply. Here's some additional content, the data will be loaded after the first release, it is normal for the loading time to last a few minutes, so try to avoid changing the original data structure; if you have a Premium license, you can enable the Large semantic model storage format setting before performing the first refresh operation in the service.

Incremental refresh in the Power BI service is reset whenever you make changes to your report meta data. It will be effective again after the second refresh.
Try to limit your report changes, or use ALM Toolkit to push these changes independently so the partitions are not destroyed.

Hi,
Thank you for the response.
Now i have implemented incremental refresh with direct query but i am not sure how fast i am gonna get my real time data coz the data is refreshed from the source after every 2 mins but its not reflecting on my report on powerbi service neither on powerbi desktop. when i refresh the datasource on the powerbi service, the changes are reflected in the report but it makes the report so slow that i think that i might got fired from my organization 🙂

Read about APR - Automatic Page Refresh. You may need that if your Incremental Refresh table includes a "live" partition for "Today"

Your capacity admin needs to enable that.
